Tasty Christmas tree, or ideas for interesting, edible decorations

Hanging on the Christmas tree edible decorations, such as apples, fruit, or gingerbread has a very ancient tradition. If you already have enough of  modern  decorations,  hang this year on the Christmas tree edible decorations. Christmas tree  was decorated with nuts and small, red apples  yet long before invention of Christmas balls. Such natural ornaments have their symbolism. The applessuppose to provide health and beauty throughout the year, and the nuts were guarantee of prosperity.

So you want to welcome the New Year in beauty, health and wealth, think about decorating  the Christmas tree in apples and nuts. Another pride of Christmas tree, which has a long tradition, are gingerbread cookies. Formed in interesting shapes and decorated with icing, they are not only beautiful, but wonderfully scented decoration. Prepare 300g of flour, a pinch of salt,  teaspoon of baking powder, black pepper and cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ground cloves, 100 g of soft butter and brown sugar, 2 large eggs, beaten with 4 tablespoons of liquid honey. Mix thoroughly the flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves and pepper.

All time stirring, slowly add the flour, sugar, beaten eggs and honey. Split the cake into two parts. One part store in the freezer, and the other one roll out and cut out the shapes. The remains of the dough  roll out again and cut out gingerbread, repeat the process until you used  all of the cake. At the top of each cookie make a hole to be able to thread the ribbon through it. Spread the cookies on trays, lined with baking paper. Bake for about 20 minutes in the preheated oven at 170 degrees. When the cookies cool, you can decorate it with icing and colored sprinkles.

When the icing dries out, thread through the hole a ribbon and hang ornaments on a Christmas tree. You can also decorate a Christmas tree with candy. Surely you remember the popular, elongated candy, so-called ” icicles ” that as a child you hung on the tree. What stands in the way, to redo those times? You can put on the tree  chocolate pralines wrapped in a shiny silver foil. The candy can make a  long chain around the tree by tying them together with a gold thread. Your child will be happy to prepare a tasty string. Decorating Christmas tree with sweets will be great fun not only for you, but also for your children.
