If they land on your clothing or bedding, they will leave ugly stains. Their removal starts with washing with water and detergent and then wiping with diluted ammonium chloride. After that, use methylated spirits or petrol. Saturate a cotton ball in them and wipe the stain. After this treatment, the fabric should be washed with warm water and detergent. Older spots should be immersed for half an hour in cold water with detergent. You can also clean the stain with a chemical bleacher and then wash the fabric traditionally.
