Dirt can be washed away with petroleum ether. Next, prepare a mixture of linseed oil or turpentine and methylated spirits in equal proportions. Rub the mixture against the stain. After it has dried polish the furniture with a soft cloth. To remove stains on walnut furniture, use kerosene. Apply it on the stain. If the tainted furniture is glossy, the best way to remove stains is to use denatured alcohol or vinegar. Soak a cloth in methylated spirit and wash the stain with it or pour 2 tablespoons of vinegar into one liter of water and polish the dirty furniture.
