Removing tar stains

Tar stain removal should begin with scraping the layers of tar. You should do this with a knife, taking care not to damage the fabric.

Put a bit of butter or pour some oil on the remaining dirty layer. Leave the stained material for the night.
On the following day, wash the material in hot water with detergent. If the tar stain is on wool, it can also be cleaned with petrol or turpentine. After removing the tar stain, wash the material in warm water.
After removing the stains, yellow marks often emerge around the edges. Remove them by rubbing them with a cotton swab moistened with hydrogen peroxide.
