You begin by wiping with a cloth dampened with water and detergent. Take a glass of water with 5 ml of detergent. However, if the stain persists, then moisten it with alcohol and then rinse. Instead of alcohol, you can also reach for turpentine. Another method of removing stains from shoe polish is applying petroleum ether. After a few minutes, rub the stain with a cotton ball soaked in diluted ammonia. Older stains should be covered with a layer of petroleum jelly and washed afterwards. Then wash cloth in warm water with detergent.
