Removing oil stains

Oil stains on cotton or linen fabric should disappear after washing in hot water with detergent.

In case of delicate fabrics, the stain can be removed with a cotton ball soaked in potato flour. If it does not help, sprinkle the stain with a thick layer of salt, cover it with a paper towel or a tissue and place a cloth underneath. Iron the stain; the iron should be hot. Remove the salt and clean the material with a brush.

You can also treat the oil stain the same as stains from edible fats. Cover the stain with a mixture of chalk and gasoline. Brush it after a few minutes.
