Oily stains on a carpet can be simply removed by sprinkling them with talcum powder or magnesia.

Put a paper towel on the stain and use something to apply pressure on the whole stain. After a day remove the talk powder or magnesia with a brush or vacuum cleaner. If the stain is still visible, repeat all the previous steps. You may also use petrol. Soak a cotton swab in it and rub against the stain. Keep the swab clean at all times. Take a new one if it gets dirty. Depending on the size of the stain, you may use over dozen swabs.
