Preparations for cleaning joints are available at chemical supply or repair stores. Simply apply the product on the joint, wait a couple of minutes and wash it off. After cleaning the joints, they should be impregnated to prevent them from getting dirty. Impregnating products can be purchased at construction supply stores. You can use the following for cleaning joints:

  • Vinegar
  • Baking powder,
  • Soda
  • Toothpaste,
  • dishwashing liquid,
  • Lemon juice.

Mix the vinegar with water in the ratio of 1:2; soak a sponge or a toothbrush in it and brush the joints and then rinse it with warm water.

You can also try applying only vinegar on the joints and leave it for a few minutes and then brush it and rinse it. Unfortunately, using vinegar to this end will leave an unpleasant odor after the procedure. If you mix the vinegar with baking soda, then the soda will absorb the unpleasant smell. Make a mass off vinegar and soda, use two portions of water on one portion of vinegar. Apply such mixture on joints and leave it for 10 minutes. Then brush it with a toothbrush and rinse it. Tiles can also be brushed with a sponge or a brush moistened with water with some addition of dishwashing liquid. Then rinse it with water and wipe it dry. Lemon juice can also be used as a bleacher for joints. The juice needs to be applied on the joints for a few minutes and then brushed and finally rinsed.

Do not use hard brushes for brushing, as the main damage the surface of the joints and make them look ugly. Only brand new toothbrushes or nailbrushes should be used. You can also use shoe paste to this end. A dirty joint needs to be cleaned with a toothbrush and then rinsed. It is important to use white toothpastes without any granules.
